The Chief of Emergency Medical Services is Jason Smith, who began his employment with METS in 1996. Jason has been in the EMS field since 1993, starting as a First Responder. Jason oversees the company as a whole and reports to the Board of Directors at regularly scheduled Board Meetings.
Deputy Chief Darrell Donham oversees the Operations Division of METS, including Quality Improvement, Maintenance, and Computer I.T. The position of the Deputy Chief reports directly to the Chief of Emergency Medical Services. Darrell has been employed by METS since 1994 and has worked in the EMS field since 1990.
The Office Manager is Karen Delzell, who began her employment with METS in 1982. Karen oversees the Billing Department and front office personnel. The position of Office Manager reports directly to the Director of Emergency Medical Services.
Our Battalion Chiefs oversee the day to day operations of our ambulance service. There is one battalion chief per 24 hour shift. Our battalion chiefs are Matt Watts, Jason Lonie, and Kris Leek. The position of Battalion Chief reports directly to Deputy Chief.
Our Training Chief is Dave Demery. The Training Chief is responsible for CEU training for the staff, community training, and involved in the QI process.
Captains are responsible for assisting Battalion Chiefs with the day-to-day operations of each shift. One Captain is assigned to each shift. They also fill in as Battalion Chief when needed. Our Captains are Russell Downs, Scott Keatts and Glenn Nichols.
Lieutenants are responsible for the operation of our outlying station. There are two Lieutenants per shift, one at our Webb City Station and one at our south Joplin station. Our Lieutenants are Jon Krieckhaus, Erin Rust, Kevin Russow, Nelson Daniels, John Davis, and Leigh Ann Garrett.
