Services

Ambulance

METS provides both emergency and non-emergency ambulance service. We have 4 ambulances staffed 24 hours a day: two in north Joplin, one in south Joplin, and one in Webb City. Two additional ambulances are placed in service between 10 AM and 8 PM to handle the increase in call volume. We also staff another ambulance between 7 PM and 7 AM to handle out of town transports.

In addition to Joplin and Webb City, we provide emergency ambulance service to the towns of Alba, Asbury, Carl Junction, Carterville, Duenweg, Duqeunse, Oronogo and Purcell as well as the surrounding rural communities. We maintain close relationships with local first responder agencies, providing them with training and equipment.

We provide non-emergency ambulance transfers between health care facilities for those who require ambulance transport. Last year, we provided over 4,000 non-emergency transports. If you need non-emergency ambulance transport, you may contact METS at (417) 623-3347. If you have a MEDICAL EMERGENCY, DIAL 911.

Wheelchair Van Service

METS also operates a wheelchair van service to provide transportation to those who do not need transport via ambulance, but have difficulty utilizing other forms of transportation. Our wheelchair van service operates between the hours of 8 AM and 7 PM Monday thru Friday. If you have any questions about our wheelchair service or need to schedule a transfer, contact METS at (417) 623-3347.

Courier Van Service

METS also provides a courier service to both local hospitals (Freeman and St. John's - the owners of METS Ambulance) and affiliated physicians. The courier service delivers correspondence and x-rays between the hospitals and doctors' offices. This service is not available to the public.
